The bidding process, launched on April 1, 2026, marks the beginning of preparations for one of Europe's biggest university sport events, bringing together student-athletes from across the continent in a wide range of disciplines.


Bidding Timeline
The EUG 2032 bidding procedure follows a structured timeline:
- 01 April 2026 – Opening of Bidding Procedure
- 01 October 2026 – Letter of Intention / Bidding fee payment
- 01 November 2026 - 01 February 2027 – Visits and negotiations with Candidate Cities
- 15 February 2027 – Final Bidding Dossier and Web Page Submission
- 01 March - 01 May 2027 – Attribution / Signing of the contract / Attribution fee payment


Sports Programme
The programme for the 2032 edition of the European Universities Games should include the following sports
- COMPULSORY SPORTS (13)
3x3 Basketball, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Handball, Beach Volleyball, Football, Futsal, Handball, Padel, Rugby 7s, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball
- COMBAT SPORTS (4)
Judo, Karate, Kickboxing, Taekwondo
Organised altogether as a test event in a year preceding the EUG, or in the same year as the EUG, on different dates.
- OPTIONAL SPORTS (8)
Athletics, Chess, Rowing, Powerlifting, Orienteering, Sports Climbing, Swimming, Water Polo
The first edition was held in Cordoba, Spain, in 2012, and the last edition was held in the 2024 summer in Debrecen-Miskolc, Hungary, attracting over 4500 participants representing over 400 European universities from 36 countries. The next editions of the European Universities Games will be held in 2026 in Salerno, Italy, with the 2028 edition attributed to Split, Croatia and the 10th edition attributed to Granada, Spain, in 2030.
