EUSA online Extraordinary General Assembly concludes

The Extraordinary General Assembly of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) was held online on June 5, 2025.

In preparation for the EUSA General Assembly that will be held in person in Zagreb, Croatia, on October 9, 2025, the main aim of the Extraordinary (held online for the first time ever) event was to adopt changes in the EUSA Statutes and regulations. The modifications came as a result of discussions with members and partner organisations over the previous years, following the decisions made during the last Executive Committee Meeting in Tbilisi, Georgia, in April 2025.

The Extraordinary General Assembly was welcomed by EUSA President Adam Roczek and EUSA Secretary General Matjaz Pecovnik.
Following the Election of the Chair of the Assembly, found in EUSA Vice-President Bruno Barracosa, the General Assembly approved the Agenda.

Mr Barracosa then led the proceedings of the event and introduced the members and guests through the customised online voting system, which has been used to allow participants to cast their votes during the event.

The General Assembly approved the proposal of the Executive Committee to suspend the Serbian NUSA, and closed with this vote the section of the event regarding EUSA Membership.

Moving to the discussions regarding Modifications of EUSA Statutes, the Assembly noted the withdrawal of the proposal to amend Article 15 by the Executive Committee, then proceeded with the following decisions.

  • The General Assembly approved the amendments concerning the Branding of the organization, namely proposed amendment to article 1
  • The General Assembly approved the amendments concerning the Management of the Association, namely proposed amendment to article 17 and new article 38’
  • The General Assembly approved the amendments concerning the Participation Rights, namely proposed amendment to article 29
  • The General Assembly approved the amendments concerning the Nomination Rights, namely proposed amendment to articles 35, 40 and 48

The General Assembly finally approved the sequential renumbering of the articles of the statutes.

The event concluded with the thanks of Mr Roczek and his invitation to the upcoming in-person General Assembly in Croatia next Autumn.

EUSA would like to thank all Members Representatives who have registered and attended this Extraordinary General Assembly.
