EUSA Office welcomes a new Sports Officer

The European University Sports Association (EUSA) and its Institute are delighted to announce that Kinga Gaal is joining the EUSA Office in Ljubljana, Slovenia, as Sports Officer, starting on September 1.

Kinga, who comes from Hungary, first joined EUSA in 2023 through the European Solidarity Corps programme, spending a year at the EUSA Office. During this time, she gained valuable experience and supported the organisation of the European Universities 3x3 Basketball Championship. The following year, she returned as part of the EUSA Office team for the European Universities Games 2024 in Debrecen and Miskolc in Hungary, where she contributed to the success of the event within the Communications and Media team.

In 2025, Kinga came back to Ljubljana as an intern at the EUSA Office, completing the practical component of her studies. Over the summer, she was actively involved in the European Universities Championships, gaining insights and hands-on experience across different sports, including Beach Sports, Orienteering, and Combat Sports.

Academically, Kinga has built a strong international background. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of Groningen (Netherlands) and has just completed her Erasmus Mundus International Master’s in Governance and Administration of Leisure and Sports. Through this programme, she had the opportunity to study in France (University of Lille), Lithuania (Mykolas Romeris University), and Portugal (University of Lisbon).

With a passion for basketball and a growing portfolio of experiences in sports governance, events, and communications, Kinga’s journey with EUSA has come full circle, first as a volunteer, later as part of the office staff, then as an intern, and now officially as Sports Officer.

She is excited to continue contributing to university sports and said she “cannot wait to take on this new challenge and further grow within the EUSA family.”

EUSA warmly congratulates Kinga on this new chapter and looks forward to the valuable contributions she will bring in her new role.
