EUSA-NUSA webinar and EUSA Representatives meeting 2026

The European University Sports Association (EUSA) organised an online webinar for its National University Sports Associations (NUSAs) on June 30, 2026, followed by a dedicated meeting with EUSA Representatives, bringing together members of the EUSA network to review current activities and preparations for the upcoming events, and specifically focusing on the European Universities Games Salerno 2026.

The webinar was opened by EUSA President Haris Pavletic, who welcomed the participants and outlined the objectives of the meeting. In his opening remarks, he highlighted the busy and exciting summer of university sport ahead, with the EUG taking place in Salerno, Italy, followed by the European Universities Championships in Combat Sports and Rowing. He emphasised the importance of close cooperation between EUSA and its National University Sports Associations in ensuring the successful delivery of these events, and thanked the participants for their continued commitment to the development of university sport across Europe.

Liam Smith, Director Sports Events, presented the latest updates on the preparations for the European Universities Games 2026 in Salerno, highlighting key organisational milestones and important information ahead of the Games.

Kinga Gaal, Sports Officer, provided an overview of the European Universities Championships, informing participants about the 2026 Combat Sports and Rowing Championships, the development of the 2027 Championships programme, including the potential addition of Swimming and Water Polo, and the continued promotion of Athletics, as well as the opening of the bidding process for the European Universities Championships 2029.

After an introduction on the European Students Run and EUSA Convention 2026 by Liam Smith, Miha Zvan, Sports Manager, presented the latest developments regarding the European Universities Winter Games 2028 in Erzurum, including the confirmed sports programme and the consideration of potential new sports.

The final presentation of the webinar was delivered by Sara Rozman, Director Education and Operations/COO, who introduced the future edition of the EUSA Forum and the Annual Awards Gala 2027. The session concluded with an opportunity for questions and discussion before the official closing.

The concluding remarks of the EUSA-NUSA webinar were delivered by EUSA Secretary General/CEO Matjaz Pecovnik, who thanked all speakers and participants for their active engagement. He reaffirmed EUSA's commitment to supporting its National University Sports Associations through continuous communication, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.

Following the webinar, EUSA Representatives joined a coordination meeting focused on preparations for the European Universities Games 2026 and key operational information for the event.

The meeting also covered the sports programme and competition venues, safeguarding policy and guidelines for partners and representatives, communication channels and media procedures, as well as clothing, equipment and dress code requirements. Reporting procedures and final remarks concluded the session.

The meetings helped keep NUSAs and EUSA Representatives informed and aligned as preparations continue for upcoming EUSA events.
