EUSA Inclusion and Diversity Commission meets online

EUSA Inclusion and Diversity Commission meet for the second meeting on November 18, 2022.

Present on the online meeting were Mr Bruno Barracosa (POR), Commission’s Chair and EUSA Executive Committee Member, members Ms Kay Biscomb (GBR) and Mr Kjell-Erik Kvamsdal (NOR) and Ms Sara Rozman (SLO), EUSA Education and Development Manager and the Secretary of the Commission.

The primary objective of the Inclusion and Diversity Commission is to supervise and advise on the work of European University Sports Association in the field of activities and projects promoting inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunities. The main goal of the Commission is to promote inclusion and diversity in university sport, which includes spreading values of gender equality, fighting against discrimination, violence, and harassment. Overall: to make university sport a safe, equitable and accessible space for all. 

Preliminary discussions focused on the Commission's goals for 2023 which includes the second edition of the online Seminar on Equal Opportunities in Sports, report on the state of Gender participation in European University Sports, review and update the Incident Policy, start a column on the EUSA website with interviews of role models and propose a draft of an Inclusion and Diversity charter.

It is foreseen that the members will meet again in the beginning of next year.
