EUSA Convention 2018 starts with a seminar
Before the EUSA Convention for the Organisers of the next year’s European Universities Championships, Kranjska Gora, Slovenia hosted a seminar for the members of the Technical and Medical Commission on September 20 and 21, 2018.
As the seminar commenced on September 20, the International Day of University Sport (IDUS), the start was dedicated to its celebration, also reflecting the European Mobility Week and the upcoming European Week of Sport. The event started with a #beactive cycling activity.
At the official part, the participants were welcomed by the President of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) Mr Adam Roczek, Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, and Vice-Chair of the Technical Commission Mr Marko Zunic.
EUSA Sports Manager Mr Besim Aliti presented the role of the EUSA Technical Delegates, operational documents and other practical things related to the European Universities Championships.
Mr Daniel Studer as the EUSA Technical Delegate for Tennis presented his own experience of working in the role of the technical delegates, and the challenges that might arise.
EUSA Results Management System was presented by Mr Marin Furcic, Director of Furki Sport, with which the platform was developed for the needs of EUSA sports events.
On behalf of the European Karate Federation (EKF), Mr Davor Cipek presented good practice in sports cooperation and partnership between EUSA and EKF.
The next day started with a #beactive morning run to Lake Jasna, followed by workshops. Here, the delegates got the chance to reflect on the past European Universities Games Coimbra 2018 and the upcoming season of the European Universities Championships in 2019.
The seminar concluded with a #beactive sports activities, visiting the nearby Planica and trying the adrenalin zipline ride, one of the steepest of the kind. The main part of the EUSA Convention continues on September 21 and 22.
