EUSA Control Commission holds first online meeting
The EUSA Control Commission held its first online meeting following its appointment by the EUSA Executive Committee, marking the start of its new four-year mandate.
The meeting brought together newly appointed members and served as an introductory session to align on the Commission’s role and upcoming activities.
The Commission is chaired by Piotr Marszal (POL), with Indre Celkiene (LTU) as Vice-Chair. The members include Andrzej Burzynski (POL), Daniel-Cazimir Geanta (ROU), Ricardo Nora (POR), and Vincenzo Sabatini (ITA). Their combined expertise will support the effective delivery and oversight of EUSA events.
During the meeting, members introduced themselves and reviewed the Commission’s terms of reference. Particular attention was given to its responsibility for verifying athlete eligibility and managing accreditation procedures for delegations, athletes and officials.

The discussion also addressed the main operational focus for this year, especially in relation to the European Universities Games 2026 and the European Universities Combat Sports Championships 2026. Key elements highlighted included document verification, accreditation workflows, and structured reporting, alongside opportunities to further enhance existing control mechanisms.
In the coming period, the Commission will carry out its duties through a combination of online coordination and on-site engagement at events, ensuring consistent implementation of procedures and contributing to the overall quality and integrity of EUSA competitions.
