EUSA continues to tackle gender inequality

The European University Sports Association continues to promote gender equality at both a sporting and leadership level, publishing a gender equality leaflet outlining the association’s initiatives on this topic while inviting all interested participants to a Gender Equality workshop on Thursday, 1 July.

Actions and activities concerning gender equality have always been of utmost importance to EUSA, with the organisation taking great strides forward to ensure greater female representation at all levels of the association.

EUSA’s Equal Opportunities Commission has been hard at work, developing a gender equality leaflet highlighting the current and desired future gender representation at all levels within EUSA, with several measures including a change in statutes and internal documents set to increase the minimum gender representation quota within the EUSA Executive Committee following this year’s General Assembly.

Details of this, and other gender equality initiatives, can be found on the leaflet, which is available for EUSA members HERE.

In addition to this, EUSA through the EUSA Institute will be hosting a webinar on gender equality, entitled Addressing Gender Imbalance in Sports Organisations, which will be held online on July 1, starting at 4pm CE(S)T.

The webinar aims to address gender-unbalanced representation in decision-making positions in sports organisations and challenges women encounter when running for top positions, with guest speakers and panel discussions focusing on measures and realistic objectives on advancing gender equality in sport leadership.

More information about the webinar can be found on the event’s Facebook page, while registration for all interested participants is currently open at http://bit.ly/eusa-gender.
