EUSA attends National Volunteering Week 2023

European University Sports Association (EUSA) with its Institute attended the Happy Day of Volunteering in Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana on May 25, where
more than 50 organizations from across Slovenia presented and displayed their activities at various stands at Prešeren Square.

The occasion organised by Slovenska Filantropija, served as a celebration of volunteerism, a chance for organizations to publicize their initiatives, and a chance for volunteers from various groups to connect and exchange experiences.

European University Sports Association (EUSA) with its Institute was represented at the stand by EUSA volunteers Ms Cristina Kenely, Ms Kinga Gaal, Mr Pol Arnan and Mr Benjamin Petrovcic, under the supervision of the EUSA Communications Officer Ms Kiki Hristova.

One of this year's promotional topics was Integrity in Sports which is related to the Youth Integrity Ambassador Project program, having the primary purpose to  raise awareness and promote integrity in sports with various activities such as mini basketball, memory games and short quiz questions. The National Volunteering Week served as an occassion for the EUSA volunteers to also implement their YIAP local activity and educate people on the importance of integrity, inclusion, and diversity in sports.

The EUSA stand was a great success and attracted many visitors that were interested in this essentially relevant topic. Moreover, the mini-basketball game was the most engaging and attracted both kids and adults, taking the chance to win EUSA branded prizes.

Through the EUSA stand, the promotion was also focused on the upcoming European Universities Championships, both in the summer and winter season, and the EU-funded projects (iSport, BRAVA, GSHE,Uni4s, ESOM and iFlipp).

The EUSA Institute offers various opportunities to volunteer punctually at sports events and on an annual basis through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Programme.
EUSA has been welcoming ESC volunteers since 2014. They take part in the office's daily activities in Ljubljana, also actively contributing to different EUSA events and different project activities.
