EUSA attends EGLSF events in Munich

European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the EUSA Institute was present at the Conference and General Assembly of the European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF), as well as at the meeting for the Inclusion in Sport (iSport) project, held in Munich between March 3-5, 2023.

The events was hosted by Team Munich and started on Friday with the Human Rights Conference entitled "How political is sports?" discussing LGBTIQ+ integration through sports, and included a guided tour through the current exhibition To Be Seen - Queer Lives 1900-1950, held at the NS-Doku museum. In the evening, official reception was held at the Bavarian State Parliament for all participants and guests.

Conference

The General Assembly was held at the Trudering Culture Center on Saturday and Sunday. EGLSF members and partners were able to get an update of the overall activities of the organisations, as well as specific projects – including iSport. The delegates elected a new Treasurer and hosts of the next Assemlby in 2024 - Antwerp. Alongside, partners meeting of the Inclusion of Sport project was held as well.

EGLSF Assembly

EUSA is an advocate for inclusion and diversity, has been active member of project Rainbow Youth for Sporting Equality (RYSE) and is currently leading the project Inclusion in Sport (iSport) where age, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity, as well as (dis)abilities are discussed. Both projects are co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
