EUSA at the ceremonial kickoff of academic year 2025/2026
To mark the beginning of the new academic year, the University of Ljubljana organised a welcome fair on October 1st on Congress Square, aimed at introducing new students to local associations and to the many opportunities available for them in the city.
The rich musical entertainment contributed to creating a joyful and festive atmosphere, while interactive stands and workshops allowed students to engage directly with various organizations, learn about volunteering, and explore cultural, sports, and social activities. Attendees also had the chance to connect with peers, meet student representatives, and discover resources that will help them make the most of their time at the university.
EUSA took part in this event, where our European Solidarity Corps volunteers, Aada, Dorina, and Milena, engaged with students, presenting them with the European University Sports Association and speaking about different volunteering opportunities.

They also shared their experience as both ESC volunteers and volunteers at sports events. It was also the chance for the three volunteers to explore cultural initiatives in Ljubljana and to get to know other associations working in the city.

At the fair, many students discovered EUSA for the first time and were enthusiastic about learning more about sport volunteering opportunities. To make the experience more engaging, participants could take part in a quiz to win some gadgets. In order to find the correct answers, they browsed through the annual magazine and flyers, discovering key facts and information about EUSA.

Through a fun “guess-the-answer” game, a lot of young people discovered the meaning of the ESC acronym and the EU-funded volunteering opportunities. An interactive map showing the upcoming European Universities Games 2026 and the European Universities Championships 2026 and 2027 gave us the opportunity to speak about sport volunteering and also to meet some student-athletes who may actually compete in those events! Several students expressed their interest in becoming volunteers, signing up to receive updates about future opportunities.
