European Students Run sprints forward
The second edition of the European Students Run will once again take place during the NLB Ljubljana Marathon, and, currently, nearly 10% of all registered participants to the Ljubljana Marathon will compete in the students run category.
Students-athletes enrolled at or recently graduated from a European university can register with a special discount code. To get it, they need to verify their eligibility through EUSA Portal. They will then be able to use the code on the NLB Ljubljana Maraton website to finalise their registration for the run.
The registrations for the European Students Run recently reached an important milestone: more than 900 student-athletes from over 20 countries have already signed up.

On May 26, the 33rd Students Run to the Castle (Studentski Tek na Grad) took place in the city centre of the Slovenian capital, with some EUSA office members participating by running or volunteering.
Around 1200 people accepted the challenge to run the 2.3 km that separates Prešeren Square from Ljubljana Castle, setting the participation record of the last 5 years. Primarily intended for students, but open to everyone, the Run is also a charity event, encouraging people to practice solidarity. Indeed, registration for the race was free, and participants were asked to bring food and hygiene products to support families in need.

The Students Run to the Castle aims at promoting an active lifestyle and running as the most accessible form of physical exercise. Sharing many of the same values as the European Students Run, this event was an ideal stage to present the second edition of this run.
Through a dedicated desk, participants had the chance to find out more information about the upcoming European Students Run, how to join the opportunity and be part of the second edition of the run.

The 2026 European Students Run is a legacy of the Erasmus+ Sport Runners4All project, focused on enhancing running and walking events for university students. Among main activities of the project, educational workshops, regularly running training sessions in partner countries, and the 2025 European Students Run were organized.
Runners4All project will conclude with a final conference taking place online, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 starting at 2:00 PM CET. Project partners, sports organisations and associations, universities, student organisations, organisers of running events and students are invited to join. You can register for the conference via the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_sFdtRDexSfiXN3KKYi009w
During the conference, the Runners4All team will present the main project results, educational materials developed for students, recommendations for organisers of running events, and plans for the 2026 European Students Run.
As a follow-up to the Runners4All project, we invite you to share your insights through anonymous questionnaire(s). The Participants' Survey gathers data on individuals' motivations, needs, and preparation habits, while the Organisers' Survey collects feedback on logistics, communication, and management from event hosts.
Because questionnaire responses are completely anonymous, you can also visit the separate Follow-up Form to safely submit your email address, allowing you to subscribe to receive the project's final results in late 2026 and stay notified about potential future studies.
