EUG 2026 OC President Lorenzo Lentini awarderd by Italian National Olympic Committee
CUS Salerno President and European Universities Games 2026 Organising Committee President, Lorenzo Lentini, received the "CONI Gold Star of Merit" award on Monday, December 1, 2025.
The prestigious distinction, awarded by the Italian National Olympic Committee for the 2023 sporting season, was presented to him during a ceremony in Salerno, Italy, at the Provincial Government building.
The award celebrates Lentini's ongoing commitment to promoting university sport and the growth of the sporting movement at international, national, and local levels.

"It is a profound emotion for me to receive the Stella d'Oro al Merito Sportivo," commented Lentini on the sidelines of the ceremony, "and I would like to express my sincere thanks to the provincial and regional leaders of CONI. It is an honour that goes beyond the personal dimension: it is a recognition that belongs to a team that, together with me, believed in the strength and value of university sport."

Former President of FederCusi, the Italian University Sport Federation, Lorenzo Lentini is also President of the next EUG 2026 Organising Committee, EUSA flagship event which will be held in his city, Salerno, next Summer. He is also an Executive Committee Member of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) since 2019.
