EUG 2022: EUSA-AZS Reception

On the 18 of July, the members of the national university sport associations - general coordination representatives, EUSA family members, representatives of the Organising Committee, and other VIP guests were invited to attend the joint reception of AZS and EUSA at the Stadion Widzewa in Lodz.

The warm welcome to the guests was given by Mr Alojzy Nowak, President of the University Sports Association of Poland (AZS), Mr Adam Roczek, President of the European University Sports Association (EUSA), Mr Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of Lodz University of Technology and Vice President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) Mr Marian Dymalski. 
All of them thanked the Organising Committee, EUSA Staff and Management, the University of Technology of Lodz, City of Lodz, 17 national university sports associations for naming national coordination delegations, FISU representatives, European Commission representatives, representatives from the European Sport Federations, and other officials, partners, supporters and members for their presence and contribution to make these games great and enjoyable.

At the venue where the reception was held, guests had the opportunity to also see the updated EUSA Exhibition on university sport, showcasing past and present work done in different fields such as: European Universities Games and Championships, international projects, educational activities, campaigns and more achievements of the fast-growing organisation and development of university sport in Europe.

The guests used this opportunity, gathered on one place, to mingle, share experiences, stories and memories from previous EUSA events, to enjoy good food and even better company.

For EUSA President Mr Roczek and Secretary General Mr Matjaž Pečovnik, it was of special honour that the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Mr Serhiy Zakaharin was present as well. University sport family demonstrated support, collaboration and solidarity, to make sure Ukrainian athletes have the chance to be part of the games as every other athletes coming from all over Europe. 

The European Universities Games in Lodz are being organised under the licence of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) by the Lodz University of Technology, University Sports Association of Poland (AZS) and City of Lodz, in cooperation with the EUSA Institute and several partners, including the Ministry of Education and Science, national and local tourism organisations, Polish Olympic Committee, national and local sports organisation, media outlets and is also supported by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
