EUG 2022: A Kick Off on sand and a Final indoor

The 8th day of competition ended once more with celebrations, as the final of futsal men took place in the evening. It was also the day of two GTMs for basketball and judo.

The atmosphere at Zatoka Sportu indoor court was very lively and festive for the futsal men final. At the awards ceremony, the University of Beira Interior (POR) was standing at the 3rd place as the team won its match in the afternoon against Caucasus International University (GEO). The University of Zagreb (CRO) won the gold trophy as the team defeated the University of Reims Champagne Ardenne (FRA).

Geyers Gardens venue is back to service as the beach handball competition started today for both men and women university teams. Karoli Gaspar University of the Reformed Church (HUN) won its first match the University of Goettingen (GER).

It was round 3 for the football competition, Ramon Llull University (ESP) won its match against Charles University (CZE) in Stadium Minerska.

Aside from the competitions, a General Technical Meeting for basketball took place today. In women’s tournament 7 universities are participating and 16 universities for men’s tournament. CTC Chair Mr Filipe Santos welcomed the audience and the meeting unfolded with some useful technical information following by the draws.

Finally, a General Technical Meeting was held for judo. There are 314 student athletes representing 78 universities who will compete from tomorrow in Zgierz Hall. The rules, the venue and other technical information were presented.
