EUC Tennis showdown concludes the 2025 event in Coimbra
The European Universities Tennis Championship 2025 has finally concluded on August 3, with an exciting Closing Ceremony at the Tennis Venue in Coimbra University Stadium.
The ceremony brought together athletes, volunteers, organisers, and fans in a joyful celebration of achievement, friendship, and sporting excellence.
Over 109 participants from 19 Universities from 12 countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.
This diverse representation made the Championship a true display of European unity through sport, with numerous languages, cultures, and traditions converging on one stage.

In the men’s finals, the title of champion went to the University of Regensburg (GER), which won a thrilling final match against Sorbonne Paris Nord University (FRA).

In the women’s finals, the title of champion went to the University of Valencia (ESP), which won an exciting final match against the Technical University of Munich (GER).

Both matches delivered intense competition, loud crowds, and emotional moments, creating memories that will last a lifetime for players and spectators alike.
The medals and awards were presented by EUSA representative, Liviu Matac and Jorge Cardoso, National Technical Delegate for Tennis, Ricardo Nora, President of FADU, Amilcar Falcao, Rector of the University of Coimbra, Carlos Magalhaes, President of the Organising Committee, and Carina Duarte, Secretary General of the event.

The EUSA flag was passed to the University of Split, Croatia: this symbolic moment marked the official end of this year's Championship and passed on the
responsibility and excitement to the next host city for the 2027 Championship edition of the event.
Throughout the Championship, the competition was marked not only by top-level performance but also by strong values of sportsmanship, cultural exchange, and mutual respect.
The dedicated volunteer team of over 36 local and international students played a key role in ensuring that the event ran smoothly from start to finish.
Audiences also enjoyed cultural side events, local hospitality, and the celebratory spirit that surrounded the city during the Championship.

From stunning comebacks to new records and surprise victories, this year's edition brought countless unforgettable moments both on and off the field.
While the next EUC Tennis will take place in Split, Croatia, in 2027, all teams are warmly welcomed to join the next Tennis competition during the European Universities Games Salerno 2026.
