EUC Rowing returning to Zagreb in 2026

Preparations are well underway for the European Universities Rowing Championship 2026, set to take place in Zagreb, Croatia, on August 26-29.
To ensure everything is on track for a successful event, an official inspection visit was recently conducted on October 12 by representatives from the European University Sports Association (EUSA) together with the local Organising Committee.

The visit was led by Lionel Gerard, EUSA Technical Delegate for Rowing, accompanied by Miha Zvan, EUSA Sports Manager, and Kinga Gaal, EUSA Sports Officer. Together with the OC team (led by Zagreb Academic Sports Federation General Secretary Mate Vuksic and Zagreb Academic Sports Federation Sports Director Marko Lepoglavec) and the Zagreb Rowing Federation, they met to review the current state of preparations and discuss possible improvements based on the experience from the 2024 edition, when the event was also held in Zagreb.

The inspection included visits to the competition venue at Jarun Lake, the traditional rowing site of the Croatian capital, known for its excellent facilities and scenic surroundings. The delegation assessed the course layout, technical installations, boat storage areas, and supporting infrastructure to ensure compliance with EUSA standards.

Additionally, the team inspected the accommodation facilities, including the university dormitories where student-athletes will be housed, and reviewed logistical aspects such as transportation routes, catering options, and daily event operations.

Constructive discussions with the Organising Committee focused on enhancing the participant experience and ensuring smooth coordination among all organisational partners.

The visit concluded on a positive note, with all sides expressing satisfaction with the progress made and confidence that Zagreb and Jarun Lake will provide an ideal setting for the European Universities Rowing Championship 2026, promising an outstanding competition both on and off the water.

Further info for the event, scheduled for August 26-29, 2026, will soon be available on the official channels of the event.
