ESU Celebrates 40th Anniversary

The General Assemby/Board Meeting of European Student's Union was held from 26-28 of May in the city of Paris. Delegates from all over Europe had the opportunity to meet and collaborate on the growth of the organisation,to contribute to the policy documents, to various other topics as well as to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of ESU.The co-organizer of this board meeting along with the ESU was the National Union of Students in France (FAGE).

This meeting consisted of different talks, panel discussions, presentations, round tables and votings on the ongoing elections for members of the new presidency of ESU.

The election process of this General Assembly/Board Meeting of the ESU resulted with electing the new representatives of the organisation, who will begin their term of office on July 1 in Brussels, working actively for the students and their rights.

The new people appointed on their Presidency for 2022/2023 were:

Matteo Vespa from UDU - Unione degli Universitari (ITA) as the new president, Katrīna Sproģe from Latvijas Studentu apvienība (LVA) as vice-president and Horia Onița from ANOSR (ROU) as vice-president.

These three names are the ones who will soon join the office in Brussels, where they will serve a one-year term.

Following the conclusion of this meeting on 28th of May, the 40th anniversary celebration gala took place. Present on behalf of EUSA, was Executive Committee member, student representative Ms Flobena Nikolli. She was invited on the stage by Vice President Mr Zamzam Ibrahim, where she shared a few words about EUSA, congratulated on the 40th aniversary as well as to the newly elected presidential mandate of Mr Vespa.
