ESC volunteer training in Zrece

Slovenian national youth agency Movit organised a training for European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteers in Zrece, Slovenia between February 18 and 22, 2019. EUSA Institute volunteers took part in the training as well.

For Mariano Carcatella from Italy, who started the project in September, this was his mid-term training and evaluation. According to him, "it was constructive to participate in the EVS mid-term evaluation in a wonderful place like Terme Zrece. I had the possibility to meet the others Slovenian EVS and speak about our different experiences, shared feelings about it and discussed our future challenges."

For Kieran Slocum from Ireland, who joined the EUSA team in February, this was his on-arrival training. During the training there was a lot of team-building, non-verbal skills, non-formal learning, fun activities and discussion about various topics. Some of these topics touched people in different ways and it provided a strong foundation for how our different projects were going to be. One of the tasks also required groups to complete a project that would affect the local community.

In the workshops the participants also covered topics like public speaking, leadership and the importance of being yourself. And to top it off, they had a chance to go to Rogla, where they enjoyed the activities in the snow.
