Erasmus+ Youth in Action Day 2018 in Ljubljana

How to motivate Generation Z and how can we improve work of youth organization were the topics of Erasmus + Day which was held in Ljubljana on Wednesday, 9th of May, celebrating Europe Day. Members of organizations had the opportunity to listen to the lecture "Generation Z youth: Who are they and what motivates them" and to be a part of a round table.

Psychologist, sociologist and family therapist Mr Albert Mrgole gave a keynote speech about motivating young people and most of all how to translate and understand today’s youth, giving a lot of good advice how we should understand the behaviour of young people.

Keynote speech

After the keynote speech, a round table was organized with the topic "There is no youth work without young people. What if young people do not have the interest to be involved?" including members of Erasmus+ National Agency in Slovenia, university professors and members of youth organizations.

Mr Primož Ferjancic from the National Erasmus+ Agency Movit, Mr Andrej Kirbis from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Maribor, Ms Andreja Anzur Cernic from the MEPI Institute, Mr Filip Dobranic the organization Today is a new day and Ms Tjasa Vidergar from Litija Youth Center. European University Sports Association – EUSA and the EUSA Institue were also represented at the event by the EUSA intern, EVS volunteer Mr Nenad Ruzic.

Roundtable

The participants agreed that the young people are not in apathy and that youth organizations need to find a way to include them in more creative ways and that youth organizations need to work together in order to get even better results.
