The registrations for this year’s European Universities Championship in Rowing are ongoing, with the first important deadline set to March 15. Have you already registered?

The Championship is returning to Lake Jarun, Zagreb, a venue recognised for its excellent racing conditions and longstanding rowing tradition. Building on the experience from the 2024 edition, the 2026 Organising Committee aims to deliver another top-level event for the European university rowing community.

The competition this year will be held from August 26 to August 29.
EUSA European University Rowing Championship 2026 will feature men’s, women’s, and mixed boat classes, following official EUSA and World Rowing competition rules.
The foreseen race categories are:

• Men: LM1x, M1x, LM2x, M2x, LM2-, M2-, M4-, M4x, M8+
• Women: LW1x, W1x, W2-, LW2x, W2x, W4-, W4x, W8+
• Mixed: W/M 4x, W/M 8+ (each mixed crew must consist of 50% men and 50% women from the same university)
  

As rowing is not one of the sports disciplines of this year's European Universities Games in Salerno, EUSA Executive Committee attributed the 2026 European Universities Rowing Championship, being the 16th edition, to the city of Zagreb - which was host to the event in 2024 as well. 
National university sports bodies may register the teams on the registration platform, with March 15 being the 1st General Entry Deadline. 

Rowing has a long, storied history. It is a popular competitive and recreational sport around the world.
Recalling the most recent edition, in 2025, the European Universities Championship in Rowing was held in Bydgoszcz, Poland, from September 18 to September 21. The event hosted over 500 participants representing 77 universities from 20 countries.
In EUSA, Rowing was first featured in the sports programme back in 2005, with the inaugural edition of the EUC held in Cardiff, Wales, the United Kingdom, between July 22 and 24.
