At the European Universities Games 2018 in Coimbra, the competitions in Canoe Sprint and Futsal started today, following the General Technical Meetings the day prior.

Canoeing, with Canoe Sprint, is the demonstrational sport at this year’s European Universities Games, and is featuring 73 participants, representing 23 universities from 10 countries. The races are held at the Nautic Center of Montemor-o-Velho, and will continue until Monday, July 23.



Futsal, one of the core sports in EUSA, also started today, with 22 male and 12 female teams. The title of the European Universities Champions is defended by the Moscow Polytechnical University (Women) and University of Beira Interior (Men).



The competitions will conclude on July 28, the last day of the Games.
