Bidding for European Universities Games 2028 is still open

Be a part of university sport history in Europe, be the host of the 2028 European Universities Games: EUG is the largest European multi-sport student competition, an event that combines multiple of disciplines with many educational, cultural and social activities and programmes.

Governed by the European University Sports Association (EUSA), the European Universities Games feature the participation of about 5000 competing students directly representing their Universities. It's a grand celebration of sports and community values, held every two years since the first edition in Cordoba, Spain in 2012.

The last edition of the Games was an amazing success, with more than 4400 participants representing over 400 European Universities from 37 countries coming to Łódź, Poland. Łódź University of Technology and the City of Łódź were the home of university sport in Europe July 17-30, 2022. Two weeks, 20 sports, over 800 volunteers and 6000 people directly engaged in the event, promoting equal opportunities and play fair.

Do you want to host this great event in the future? The next editions of the European Universities Games will be held in Debrecen-Miskolc, Hungary in 2024 and in Salerno, Italy in 2026... and the bidding for the 2028 edition is open!
The programme for the 2028 edition of the European Universities Games should include the following sports:
• COMPULSORY (12): 3x3 Basketball, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Handball, Beach Volleyball, Football, Futsal, Handball, Rowing, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball
• COMBAT SPORTS (4): included all/or organised as separate EUC Combat Sports: Judo, Karate, Kickboxing, Taekwondo
• OPTIONAL (up to 8): Chess, Golf, Orienteering, Padel, Rugby 7s, Sports Climbing, Swimming, Water Polo

Are you going to be the next host for this extraordinary event? This is the bidding schedule and procedure:
• OCTOBER 15, 2022–SEPTEMBER 30, 2023: Seminar for Interested Cities, letter of intention, bidding fee payment
• OCTOBER 1, 2023 - DECEMBER 31, 2023: Working meetings with Interested Cities
• FEBRUARY 15, 2024: Bidding dossier submission
• MARCH 1, 2024–APRIL 30, 2024: Evaluation visits to the Candidate Cities, attribution of the Games, signing of the contract, attribution fee payment
