Associated Members from Porto and Leiria visit EUSA Office

On June 16, representatives of two Portuguese higher education institutions visited the EUSA Office in Ljubljana, Slovenia, during their Erasmus+ staff mobility programme in higher education.

The delegation included Bruno Almeida and Rui Teixeira from the University of Porto, as well as Candida Bairrada from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. Both institutions are Associated Members of EUSA and play an active role in the development of university sport at national and European levels. They were accompanied by Mojca Ruper, representative of the University of Ljubljana.

During the meeting, EUSA representatives presented the latest activities and upcoming initiatives within the European university sport movement. Discussions focused on the preparations for this year's major sports EUSA events, including the European Universities Games in Salerno and the European Universities Championships taking place in Zagreb and Tirana, and the European Students Run in Ljubljana.

The participants also exchanged views on the organisation of future university sport events, with particular attention given to the 2027 European Universities Championships. Portugal will host three championship events next year, including Football, which will be organised in Porto.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation between EUSA and its Portuguese member institutions, exchange experiences and good practices, and discuss future opportunities for collaboration in the field of university sport and student engagement.
