ASA Israel 2018 celebrations

On June 17, ASA Israel concluded an evening of celebrations, honouring the winners of the 2018 general championships and bestowing title of honorary member of ASA to Mr Arie Rosenzweig.

Held in Tel Aviv, the evening brough together representatives from the sports leaders in Israel - the Ministry of Sports, Israeli Olympic Committee and other sports bodies in Israel. The ceremony was attended also by the Presidents of ASA Israel Mr Victor Hadad, and the Olympic Committee in Israel Mr Yigal Carmi.

Technion – Israel Institute of Technology was announced the 2018 overall winner of the general ASA championships, winning both the male and female category, as well at the general one. Wingate College place second and the Ben-Gurion University third.

University winners

Mr Arie Rosenzweig was awarded the Medal of Honor after many years of service and his contribution to Israeli sports on many levels. Mr Rosenzweig was ASA Israel President for 16 years, was a member of the Executive Committee of the European University Sports Association (EUSA), International Control Commission member of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and also served as secretary of the Israeli Olympic Committee.

ASA is completing a successful year with championships and leagues in 28 sports from 30 universities and colleges, and one major event held in March in Eilat, with international participation, hosting also teams from Poland, Belarus, Greece and Cyprus.
