3x3 FISU World University League 2018 Finals concluded

The fourth edition of the FISU 3x3 World University League Finals concluded with the finals on November 18, having the 16 male and 16 female teams from five continental tournaments compete in the Finals in Xiamen, China.

The competing teams were chosen through the continental qualifiers that ran throughout the year all around the world, and wildcard special invitation system. European teams mainly qualified at the European Universities Games which were held in Coimbra, Portugal in July 2018.

In the women’s competition, Tsinghua University (CHN) was the overall winner, followed by the Vasyl Stefanyk University (UKR) on second place. In the match for the third place, the Chinese Culture University (TPE) won the match against the University of Ljubljana (SLO) who ended fourth.

Huaqiao University (CHN) did not disappoint in the men’s final as they won against the McGill University from Montreal (CAN), and the third place went to Vytautas Magnus University (LTU) who won against the University of Auckland (NZL).

In the free throw contest, Maja Jakobcic from the University of Ljubljana (SLO) won with 14 points. Ernestas Sederevicius from Vytautas Magnus (LTU) won the slam dunk contest with 56 points.

The fourth edition of the 3x3 FISU World University League again brought the world's best student 3x3 players. Full stands and online streaming made the event even more interesting for the public.
