2021 General Assembly of COE Conference of INGOs

The General Assembly of the Conference of International Non-governmental Organisations (INGO) of the Council of Europe took place in a hybrid mode – in-person and online, with the European University Sports Association (EUSA) in attendance.

Two-day meeting took place on 5 and 6 October 2021. The participants of the meeting were addressed by Mr Gerhard Ermischer, President of the Conference of INGOs.

Later on, several topics including the adoption of reports from April sessions and political debates with the representatives of the members States on the implementation of Helsinki decisions and the situation of civil society in the member States of the Council of Europe were presented and discussed.

Welcome by COE Secretary General

On the second day of the plenary meeting the participants were addressed by Ms Marija Pejcinovic Buric, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, who spoke of Council of Europe commitment to working more closely and fully with civil society. The meeting continued with short reports by the chairs of the committees and debate that followed afterwards.

Assembly sessions, held in hybrid mode

During the two-day meeting, the Conference of INGOs adopted several recommendations and the Communication strategy.

EUSA was represented at the meeting by its Education and Development Manager Ms Sara Rozman.
