On October 25, 2018 the annual Polish University Sports Gala was held at the University of Silesia in Katowice, which is celebrating 50th Anniversary of its foundation.

During the Gala, the latest sports achievements of students from Polish universities were presented and awarded. The role of the supporting institutions - Ministry of Sport and Tourism and Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as well as sponsors - Grupa Lotos was also recognised and awarded.



The Gala was also an occasion to thank the World University Championships medallists. A special diploma of honour from Ministry of Sport and Tourism and Ministry of Science and Higher Education was presented to 23 athletes, who attended the Gala.



Diplomas were given by representatives of the institutions and by Mr Marian Dymalski, FISU Vice-President. The Female Futsal team of the Jagiellonian University was awarded for the bronze medal at the European Universities Games 2018 in Coimbra.
