VOLFAIR final meeting in Zagreb

Representatives of project partners Be(ach) Volunteer, Be(ach) Fair! (VOLFAIR) met for the final working meeting on December 3rd , at the Sports Association of the City of Zagreb, to wrap up and discuss the final activities regarding the project.

The main VOLFAIR project goals are to improve the volunteer policy and enlarge the volunteer satisfaction at beach handball tournaments in Europe, to exchange experiences and good practices of the event organisers and promotes the values of fair play.

The meeting started with a presentation of the project results, involving the final survey results, upon which, the project partners discussed how to keep empowering and involving volunteers in Beach Handball, sharing personal best practice experiences.

In duration of two years, the project participants held numerous working meetings, promoted fair play and volunteering at more than ten top-level beach handball tournaments organized in the project's partner countries, including the European University Games held in Poland in 2022. During those two years, surveys with tournament participants related to the needs of volunteers during the organization of large events were collected.

The analysis of the before mentioned surveys and the results of the project have produced future guidelines and recommendations that are extremely important for the experience of future volunteers involved in beach handball competitions.

Future collaboration, project ideas and potential partners involved, were also topic of discussion, in order to continue the great work and teamwork, that has been done in this project, among the partners.
For the wrap up part, partners discussed and defined all the necessary information required for the final report and the conclusion of the project.

The entire project, the first ever connected with the subject of beach handball in Europe, was co-financed by EU funds from the Erasmus+ Sport program, having the Academic beach handball club Zagreb (CRO) as coordinator, the Camelot beach handball tournament (NED) , EUSA Institute (SLO) and AZS-Students' Association (POL) .
