EUSA CONVENTION 2008

Ljubljana; November 7-9, 2008

 

The 2008 EUSA Convention was organised from November 7-9, 2008 in the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The aim of the convention was to give information and support to the organisers of the European Universities championships in 2009.

 

 

The representatives from Organising Committees of the European Universities Championships 2009 and the newly appointed EUSA Technical Delegates were welcomed by the EUSA President, Mr. Alberto Gualtieri, prof. dr. Andreja Kocijanèiè, the Rector of the University of Ljubljana and prof. dr. Otmar Kugovnik, the President of the Slovenian University Sports Association.

 

 

During the Convention the representatives of EUSA, Mr. Matjaz Pecovnik, Secretary General and Mr. Adam Roczek, Sports Manager, gave a general briefing on the terms and conditions as well as on examples for best practice of organisation of the European Universities Championships. Mr. Kati Korjus, the EUSA Medical Commission Member presented the Medical Terms, while Ms. Iris Olberding, the Chair of the EUSA Student Commission presented the Student Volunteer Program.

 

 

In the afternoon, a short presentation of each event was made, while later on the Technical Delegates met with the representatives of the Organising Committees of their respective sport in order to check all details of the organisation. 45 representatives from the EUC 2009 Organising Committees and EUSA Technical Delegates participated in the Convention.
