7th European Universities Basketball Championship

7th EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

 

Geneva, Switzerland: July 23-29, 2007

 

Geneva, SUI was the host of the 7th EUC Basketball. The event was organised by the University of Geneva and the Suisse University Sports Federation. 16 men and 8 women teams from 15 European countries participated on the event. In the men’s final the Vytautas Magnus University (LIT ) won the Aristotle University (GRE) of Thessaloniki by 86:82. The Champions in women competition became the Higher Vocational State School Gorzow (POL) who won the University of Ljubljana (SLO) by 71:62 in the finals. The awards for the best player went to Katarina Ristic (University of Ljubljana) and Paulius Pociuipa (Vytautas Magnus University (LIT ), while the Fair Play Awards were given to the University of Amsterdam (w) and AA Coimbra (m). The host of the EUC Basketball 2008 will be the University Sports Federation of Serbia, who will organise the championship in the university city of Novi Sad.
