3rd European University Volleyball Championship

3rd EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

 

12 men and 10 women teams participated at the 3rd European University Volleyball Championship, which was organised by the Slovenian University Sports Association in the beautiful City of Maribor. The Championship took place in the University Sports Centre Leon Å tukelj on the Student Campus. Since the biggest cultural festival of this area, Lent took place in Maribor at the same time, all the participants could also enjoy the rich social and cultural programme. Amongst all the participants from 10 European countries, the men team of University of Montpellier I was the best. In the finals, they defeated the Technical University of Eindhoven with 3:0; and the women team of the University of Rome, defeated their Polish colleagues from the Academy of Physical Education of Warsaw by 3:0. Mr. Rozman, the rector of the University of Maribor, awarded the medals to the best individuals and teams.
