The 2nd European University Basketball Championship was organised in the City of Koper (SLO) with 12 men and 10 women teams from 12 European countries participating. The Slovenian University Sports Association together with a great support of the State, the City of Koper and the new University of Primorska organised the championship on a high quality level. Beside sports programme, the students could also enjoy the rich social programme, concerts, excursions, receptions, swimming! Since all the games were played in one place - the sports centre. Bonifika, a good atmosphere was created during the competitions; especially in the finals, where the men team of the University of Athens defeated the hosts with 75:72, while the girls from Novi Sad managed to reach for their second title defeating the University of Ljubljana with 71:61. At the closing ceremony, Mrs. Lucija ÄŒok, the Minister of Education, Science and Sports awarded the medals to the best teams.
