1st European University Volleyball ChampionshipUžice, Serbia and Montenegro: September 19-22, 2001
Altogether 14 men and women teams from 9 European countries participated at the 1st European University Volleyball Championship, which was organised by the University Sports Federation of Serbia and Montenegro in the cities of Užice and Vrbas in September 2001. The tournament was on a high quality level and many spectators could really enjoy the matches. At the end the gold medals stayed in the host country, after University of Novi Sad won against University of Athens in men's tournament and University of Užice won against University of Bratislava in women's tournament, both with 3:0.
