5th European Universities Football Championship

5th EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

 

Rome, Italy: July 9-15

 

5th European Universities Football Championship 2007 took place in Rome, Italy. 22 university teams (16 men and 6 women) from 15 European countries took part on the event, which was successfully organised by the Italian University Sports Federation (CUSI) and CUS Roma.

 

In the men tournament the title of the European Universities Champions went to the University of Orleans (FRA), which won in the finals the University of Istanbul (TUR) by penalties 5:3. In the regular playing time the result was 1:1.

 

Also in the women finals the winner was known only after the penalties. The champion became the University of Madrid (ESP) which won the University of Munich (GER) with 4:2 (1:1).
